Clam Hub Light

Has anyone used the Clam light that mounts to the ceiling of your hub?  I like the fact that it mounts to the house, so you can't forget it, and that it runs off your flasher battery, so you don't have to worry about your batteries running out or having a stockpile of Duracells on hand (as long as you keep your flasher charged).  My main concern would be shadows, thinking that depending on how you're sitting you might be casting a shadow over your hole.

Just interested if anyone has used it, and if they like it.  I know, I know, $50 is a lot of money for a stinking light, but ice fishing is about the only thing I don't feel guilty about throwing a little money at.

I like to use the clam stick light, very bright and runs off the vex to if you want and you can hang the light by 2 velcro straps that come with it.

That is a nice model. I have that in my 1660.

Yeah, I know certain products can be touchy subjects in these parts. For what it's worth, I bought the Clam light over the weekend. While I haven't had a chance to use it on the ice, I did set-up my hub in the basement to see how the light would work and thought it was incredibly bright, much brighter than I was expecting. However, I borrowed an idea from someone else I found online and glued a strong magnet to the back of it, so I can remove it if I want to, instead of having it permanently mounted to the hub using the longer bolt it comes with.
