smoker hotter in back corner

I have a masterbuilt  electric, always is hotter on all 4 racks in back right corner, i would say 3 inches by 3 inches if that makes sense.  i havent paid much attention to it maybe be a damper open/closed deal, just wondering if others have noticed this.

I leave mine open about 1/8 inch.  no issues that I know of

That will be the hotter spot in any smoker, by the damper outlet.  The hot air leaves that area bringing more of a concentrated flow of hot air there.  Of course the more the damper is open the more the air flow.  I do most of my smoking with the damper wide open but not everything calls for that.  I rotate my sausage when I smoke so I don't really have a problem with that.  This is true with almost any smoker to one degree or another by the smokestack.  A friend of mine has a good size homemade smoker.  He has two small fans installed which rotates the air and gets virtually no hot spot.  good luck.
