blue_healer_guy
I have a masterbuilt electric, always is hotter on all 4 racks in back right corner, i would say 3 inches by 3 inches if that makes sense. i havent paid much attention to it maybe be a damper open/closed deal, just wondering if others have noticed this. reinhard1
That will be the hotter spot in any smoker, by the damper outlet. The hot air leaves that area bringing more of a concentrated flow of hot air there. Of course the more the damper is open the more the air flow. I do most of my smoking with the damper wide open but not everything calls for that. I rotate my sausage when I smoke so I don't really have a problem with that. This is true with almost any smoker to one degree or another by the smokestack. A friend of mine has a good size homemade smoker. He has two small fans installed which rotates the air and gets virtually no hot spot. good luck.
