Iowa pheasants

Recommended Posts

We were hunting public areas around Emmet and Dickinson counties. We were just suprised after hunting around Marshall, MN the week before where we saw about five times as many birds. We talked to some others hunting around the area and they weren't getting on many birds either. Maybe farther west there will be more birds.

Guys you have to understand that public is hit very hard the first few weeks of the season.I've hunted the NW part of the state for 10 years now and this year is one of the best I've seen for bird #'s.We hunted for 4 hours this last Sat. and seen at least 30-40 birds.Best of luck guys!

I hunted In Pocahontas and Kosuth counties on opening weekend. 8 guys got 15 birds on Sat. and the 4 of us that stayed over and hunted Sunday got our limit of 12 by 1:00 p.m. and were headed back home.
Everytime we jumped a bird there were 4 or 5 together.

My dad and I were just outside of Whittemore last weekend and we got our limits each day.

We were hunting on Private land, but also did well in the ditches.

We got almost all of our birds in a 20 acre feild, it was a blast.

I don't think I've ever seen so many birds.
