rushing
I'm fairly new hunter and all I have ever pheasant hunted was on private land but I was thinking about hitting a WMA near my house and was wondering do you have to use Steele shot on WMAs?I was out in western MN on private land last weekend with two other guys, no dog, we saw 10 roosters, got one. I never seem to be able to get my safty off in time. I saw more birds last weekend than the few times I have been out in the last 3 years combined. I have yet to get one myself. LOLThanksRob
bigdog
Steel shot is not required on WMA's but is required on WPA's. Waterfowl Production Areas have the white signs with green lettering. If you shoot waterfowl, doesn't matter where, you have to use steel.[This message has been edited by bigdog (edited 10-20-2003).]
BDR
Check the regs on WMA's.I think that you can use lead still, but a CO that came to my son's firearms safety mentioned something about needing to use steel anywhere within 100 yards of water(something to that effect) I didn't follow that closely as I have been using steel everywhere.
