Carlos avery or Sherburn

[BIG ISLAND DUDE]

I usually grouse hunt north of the GR area and do really well. Unfortantly I will be in the cities this weekend, So I might head up to Carlos or Sherburn. Ive went there before and have never flushed a single bird. just wondering if anyone has had any success there. If so, what type of habbitat have you found them in. Any advice or good grousin stories are appretiated.

I would say go to sherburne, I go there almost every week during grouse season,I usually go during the week, you will find some birds, not in the numbers as up north but for that close to the metro it is decent. I have not been back to carlos after a couple of poor hunting experiences some one else may be able to give you info on that.I cant tell you if it will be packed with hunters on opener but i would guess it will be. good luck Adam
