Boar
Ok, so after shooting a bear ans skinning and qaurtering its usually 2-3 in the morning. so depending on things, I straddled with either putting it a lrge fridge or in the freezer, well.. couple with a prety large bear that wont fit in the fridge, and many honeydo things backed up due to bear hunting, I had to opt for the freezer. now having caught up on things, i pland on the main proccessing, what would the best way to thaw out the large chunks of meat. I would assume to do a gradual thaw, like one dose with a turkey in the fridege for 3 days, the torso i thoguth id just leave out over night friday whwn i went to bed, the start on when i wake up, it will still be cool. the large hinde qaurters im thinking on a gradual thaw. any thoughts on this?? Jim Almquist
If you can fit them into a cooler that would be a great way to slowly thaw them out to the point were you could butcher into small chunks.
delcecchi
A meat saw, preferably a meat cutting bandsaw, will cut frozen meat. Otherwise, anything that keeps the outside cold while the inside thaws should be good.
