I should be up at the cabin this weekend. Do most of my grouse hunting on our land near Dora Lake.
I've been seeing a fair number of birds in my area when walking the dogs. My 3y/o lab flushed a nice covey of 5 or 6 the last weekend we were up and we usually get 1 or 2 flushes every morning just walking down the trails. She got so excited she was just about doing back flips when they were taking off all around her. grin.gif There's still a LOT of leaves, so expect to put in plenty of miles to get a shot.....but what a beautiful time of year to be in the woods!!
Be safe and Good Luck !!

yeah, I'll be blasting up 169 at O dark 30 tommorrow morning. Planning on grousin during the day and sitting in the bow stand in the evening. Last year only got out once and only saw 1 bird (brown phase) and as big as a chicken!. The one good thing is that I saw quite a few birds deer hunting (rifle) last year so I'm thinkin theres got to be some around this weekend. I'd tell ya where I was going but then, you know. Thats kinda the funny thing about grouse hunting, everyones got their spots and they'll never give them up generally. Peace out.
