Electric Auger question

Good morning,

I have the opportunity to buy this for $40.00, the guy says it works great he just stopped ice fishing. I would use this primarily in my fish house, access to a battery from my truck, gator or sled is not an issue. Do any of you folks have one, I know there are much better ones out there but for this price I am willing to try it out.

$40 is a steal it if works, new blades will cost $40 themselves...I'd be a little hesitant using that on a ATV/Sled battery, could drain it pretty quickly then you're screwed starting your ATV/Sled....no fumes is nice in a perm shack...for the convenience, I'd just buy a separate 12 volt battery for it...You'de then be $100 into it, but have a rock solid perm shack auger...

The auger alone is worth more than $40. That's a great deal. May not cut the fastest, but for $40 well worth it.

99% of the time I would be using my gator 825i which should solve this issue of draining the battery as it has an alternator. I would just let it run for a few minutes after I use it. Guy just delivered it, it looks and runs great...

Cant tell but if thats a strikemaster big volt they go for 400 bucks, surfacetension on the forum could sharpen those blades. buy it or sell it to me, I'll give ya 100 bucks. cash if it a big volt

Fished with it yesterday and it worked great. Not the fastest but it is what i wanted for my fish house. There is a little rust on the auger i will clean it up this summer but should i just spray paint it with a gloss paint then?

not fast is what u want in a house so it dont throw it all over the place. good for on the deal. remove all the rust if ur gonna paint it. or it will just come back.
