I like how the dad says "we don't really need the outside world" and then takes his chevy suburban to town to collect his state dividend check so he can put gas in his boat.

With that said I think the show is somewhat entertaining.

They should spend a little dividend money at the Dentist! Every one of them have bad teeth! No wonder none of the guy have any woman! eek

PLEASE please please fella's.......don't believe any of the carp you see or hear on those Alaskan 'reality" shows. And don't believe any of the hollywood garbage you read on various sites and in magazines either.

The Alaska Trooper thing is at least okay ( I know some of the guys) but ya gotta remember, it is STILL entertainment TV.

As for the hunting and living off the land...that is stuff from more than fifty years ago.

I heard from an old pal that in one of the recent ones they had the family hunting deer in a part of Alaska where there ARE NO DEER! Ha Ha Ha!
