I do a lot of dock fishing this time of year. I do most of my fishing from waders and have had a lot of success fishin docks. Since I am standing right by the dock I think i am able to fish it a lot beter than you can from a boat. I usually throw worms or senkos under the docks but i want to try some new techniques. What are you two most effective thing to throw?

My most effective baits when fishing docks are senkos and I also like a weightless tube rigged weedless. Sometimes when I use weight for my tubes I will insert an
1/16 oz. E-Z tube weight.

With my senkos I will cast to my target and leave it sit for a while and watch my line for a strike.

Black/Blue is always a good standby as far as weight goes you generally don't have to punch through much cover around docks so I'll let the wind dictate how heavy I go.If it's awfully windy I'll go with a heavier jig than I would on a calm day so I can keep in better contact with my lure.Another plus is you can free yourself from some unbeleivable predicaments(most times)with a jigs protected hook design.

I'm 6'6" so about 90% of the docks I can walk around, the other 10% I go up on shore and hop over them. I dock fish on the same 5 to 10 lakes every year so the land owners are pretty use to me. Most of them stop and watch while I fish there dock. They like to see a big bass cought on there dock. I release 100% of my bass and this pleases them also. Once and a while the owner will send their kids out to run on the dock or throw rocks, this makes me mad but what can you do, so I just move to the next. The ability to fish a dock thoroughly from your waders is awsome. You can get right in there and sneek up on all those big bass.

I like to use a ribbon tail tail worm for fishing docks, I will also throw tubes as well. I texas rig both of them usually on a light bullet wieght if the wind isn't to strong. My fav. colors for the worm would be red shad, other colors may work, but i have a lot of confidence in this color and it seems to work for me. For the color of the tube I usually will go with black blue, or I will pitch brown tubes with an orange tail under the docks. These two baits have worked great for me when it comes to fishing docks. Also skipping the senkos under the docks, as you have stated already is always a good technique as well.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
