Well, now that we are all getting the dust off the decoys, sharpening the spears, and figuring out which lakes have ice....

Last year my first time out was the GTG. This year, Thanksgiving day!!!

5.5"-6" of good solid ice, that talked the whole time I was walking out. I'm a "slim" 205lbs and was pulling the house and what not in the small otter.

6' of water with some weed cover. Saw a couple smaller fish, nothing speared, but had a lot of fun!!!

I got out Saturday On a Lake attached to Clearwater in Annandale. 4 1/2 inches. The water was very murky for the 1st foot then clear. We would drop my camera through the cloud then clear as day. Needless to say we saw nothing and nothing on tipups. My buddies neighbors had 10 tipups out for 4 hours without a flag as well. Oh well the floor I made for the Quickfish worked great. THe GTG should provide some action.

Went out today from 9 to 3. Didn't see a single fish. As others have stated the lake has a foot of terrible water on top that made it difficult to see. Fun to be out regardless but really wanted to take one with the new spear. It will have to wait.
