Caliper Bolts

Went to remove the front brake calipers on my 05 Chev. 2500HD and could not get the bolts loose.

A friend said they are reverse threaded. Is this true?

They will come loose if you turn counter clockwise . Apply a little heat.

They are not reverse threaded!

Nothing a half inch impact won't break free. There is plenty of thread lock on them from the factory.

I thought there was a lot of conflicting thought here but righty tighty, lefty loosy does apply here. I tried a 1/2 impact driver and a 20" pipe on the 1/2" ratchet, no go so far but at least I know I am turning it in the right direction.
