Japan vs. MLB all stars

Anyone pay attention to this? I caught a bit of it on MLB network. Apparently it's a 5 game series, and the Japanese all stars have owned the major leaguers so far. And to add insult to injury (literally), Robinson Cano broke his toe. Anyone know how the final 2 games played out?

Are you sure it isn't 7 games they play? The first 3 games MLB All-stars lost including game 3 where they were no-hit!!! that is the game Cano broke his toe. We won the forth game thanks to a Justin Morneau 3 run home run.

It's a 5 game series, not best of 5. So they play all 5 no matter who won how many. It's now 3-1 Japan.

Game 5 is tomorrow morning 4am local time. Not sure if it's televised here or not, but probably won't get up that early to see. grin

ahh I knew it wasn't a best of series but I thought I read 7 games and thought that was odd without it being a best of series...5 sounds more appropriate for exhibition games.

It was on the MLB network, so I would guess they would replay it at least once. I'm a casual fan of the baseball world cup (or whatever it's called), but the last time I watched the japanese and MLB all stars play each other, Kirby Puckett was in the line up! crazy

so I guess they did play 7 games total and only 5 counted towards the series is what I was reading this morning. What the difference was between the exhibition games and the series is beyond me but the All-star lost the series 3-2.
