Harvest Progress?

Anyone have an update on how harvest is progressing in western/southwestern MN? Any corn down?

Most of the farmers in my area are just finishing up on beans. Corn is still too wet to combine so it may be a week or 2 before they start around here. I hope the birds are in the corn because they sure as hell aren't any where else.

Mn crop report as of Tuesday said mn corn averaged 26 pct moisture. Harvest can start around 23-25, depends on how much they want to dry. Saw a few combines on opener in big stone co. Putting on the corn heads but not much out yet. Saturday morning saw probably 20 birds going from grass to corn around 8 am. Good news is they were coming back around 5:30 pm. Got a couple for weekend, had chances at 4. Flushed around 30 for weekend. Good numbers of hens and youngsters.

Spent few weeks working in your neck of the woods working on a site between Montivideo and Dawson. Saw a few birds in the AM north of Redwood this morning as well as a Coyote by the Yellow Medicine river and a half dozen turkeys by the upper sioux. Never been to the area before but it looks like a great place.
