Northlander Posted September 28, 2014 Share Posted September 28, 2014 I have Rams and Scotty's on mine and I like the scotties better for trolling rods/reels and the rams better for the spinning. Down Deep Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 I don't use rod holders very often, but I have the Scotty's. For me it was simply a price choice between choosing the Scotty's vs the Ram. The Ram's do have a few more gadgets you can attach to the holder to make it more flexible. The SportTrax system is a solid improvement in design for boat gadgets. Be sure to buy a couple extra of the the Trax slides, just in case a part or two turns up missing.
