Adding lights to 1990 Lund WC 14

I am going to add hardwired lights to this boat. I will run them from a deep cycle battery. Do I run a ground from the battery to the hull and then run the positive wire from the battery to each light? Or do I run a positive and negative from the battery to each light?

Run both wires to each light. Don't use the hull as a return.

When I did this a long time ago I pulled the corner cast cap off the boat in the rear, and the nose in the front & ran the wires down the rub rail / top of the gunwale... made it easy and clean.
