Myrt. Give me a call any evening @ 2186894736. I can help explain the pro's and cons and answer any questions you may have on the Snobear. I do not work for and have no affiliation with them however I have worked on many of them and I currently own my second customized rig which is a 2010.....Jim.

WH. The older machines had bogey wheels as well. The new ones have about twice as many however. Your right, the changes were made in order to combat Hi-fax wear and sticking. In certain particular conditions such as late ice and early ice when there can be lack of snow on the ice there was a problem with the Hi-fax getting hot and ultimately sticking the track clips due to lack of lubrication. Same type of thing that happens on a snowmobile just on a larger scale. There are around 24 bogeys per side currently that do a good job of keeping the track clips from sticking to the slides in low lube situations.
