Matthew's Outback value

My father-in-law just told me that he is going to sell his Matthew's Outback that he won at a banquet several years ago. It's new in the box but is about 7 years old I would guess.

What do you guys think it should be worth?

I am not trying to sell it right now, just looking for info on how much it should be worth. I have a couple people that are interested in it already and won't need to look for a buyer - just need to know what it's worth.

Thanks

Unfortunate that he didn't try to sell it when he won it. By holding it and not using it, the thing just kept losing value and only took up space. I'd guess the bare bow would be worth around $200 hundred dollars today if you wanted to sell it reasonably fast. With accessories of the same age, I'd guess it would be about $50 higher. The right buyer (or uneducated buyer), might pay a little more.

Bare bow, I would not let it go for less than $350.00. That may seem high but it is still a new bow and maybe 40% of the price of a new one. The new bows are not that much better than the Outback you are talking about selling. Check out the price of a new one on Mathews site.

All set up, I would ask $600.00, depending on what it has on the bow for brand named assc.

Thanks for the input, much appreciated. It's a new bow in the original box. There are no sights, rest, arrows, nothing....... bare bow in the box. Never fired... not once.

I found a few used Outbacks on the E..y and they are all used... not sure what they actually sell for since I haven't watched any of them til the end but they are looking like they might go for more than I thought they would.

I tried to get him to sell it right away but he had big plans to use it someday. Now he wants to sell it and get a crossbow. I might be buying him a crossbow and keeping the Outback for myself but still not sure yet. I know a couple of guys who are looking for new bows and might give them a great deal on a 7 year old "new" bow. I have a great bow that shoots awesome so I'm torn on what to do. It will work itself out I guess.

Thanks again,

BR
