I found several of these the other day but skipped picking them as I don't know enough about them. Has anyone picked them before? They are said to be a good/choice edible, but my rule is if I am only 99% sure, that's not sure enough... What are the possible look-alikes? These were growing under mature oaks in Northern MN.

If you have not, go down to the "bolete ?" thread. If it does not not stain blue and does not have red/orange pores, and even if you aren't the other 1% sure, even if it is not a chestnut.....your pretty much good to go provided it is not an orange cap....well, guess that is still up for debate grin Since sillytown is gone maybe we can pick up some slack in here wink
