My 15 year old Daiwa bit the dust this weekend. What is a good replacement reel. My price point is up to $150.00 it will be used for worming and some lighter jig work. I spool with 30lb power pro slick and attach flouro leaders depending on conditions. MY other reels are some old 5500, a Citrix, and a lews. Maybe leaning towards another Lews. What have you guys had good luck with?

Lew's introduced a bunch of nice reels at ICAST this year. Some even in the $60 price point which I will admit I'm curious about.

I personally use Pflueger reels for most of mine but I got a great deal on them. IF I were to buy a new Reel now I would head towards Lew's just based on the coupons and bang for your buck.

Which model Daiwa did you have? If Daiwa worked for you why change? Lot's of people are happy with the Tatula which is in your price range. I am currently waiting on receiving a new Type R Tatula which I won in an auction for well south of $150.

The Abu Garcia revo series are favorite of mine. I'd say the revo SX . You can usually find good deals to knock the price down a little. I have the 1st generation S and love it but the 3rd generation don't seem to have as much stopping power.

I went to Lews when they came back a few years ago and I have 7 of them now. I have given them a serious workout and they are still going strong. I have two of the Tournament MG which should be in your price range. It sounds like they have plenty of options now.

Spent the evening at cabelas in Woodbury . Played with the tatula , curado and lews. I left with the lew's tournament mg. It just felt smoother than the others . The reviews for all of the reels were good so I went with what felt best. Thanks for the suggestions it will be on a 7 ft shimanno with 30 lb pp super slick
