Idea- Converting Dorm Fridge (or Regular Size) to Bait Cooler??

Cobber

Question

Good afternoon, all-

So, I have an idea that I want to bounce off of everyone.

During the fishing seasons, it gets tough at the cabin to always have to purchase bait- only to have to dispose of the remainder (only to buy bait again the following weekend) - especially with high-dollar items like shiners.

I have been thinking of an idea to convert a refrigerator to a small bait cooler, due to being able to keep them in a cool place.

Does anybody have any thoughts on this, with putting a water-holding container inside the fridge with a 12volt aerator. Thinking to drain/clean the tank, for a screened nozzel at the bottom with a valve- to which I can screw a hose and run into the grass to drain.

Thoughts??

Guy next door used an old chest style freezer and ran a trickle of well water into it. The former resort owner used a similar deal (an old chest type pop cooler from the old days) along with an aquarium air pump and stone.

You can use a regular aquarium and get their for a lot less energy expense. Probably can find one at a garage sale. All you have to do is feed the minnows a bit and they will last for weeks. Change the water every month or so and you'll be good to go.
