Vermilion bass

I'll be spending a week on Vermilion over the fourth and will be spending a lot of time targeting largemouth and smallmouth. Never fished the lake before, what should I expect? Any tips or areas to try for either species? Will be staying at Vermilion Dam.

Thank you!

Joe

I wish I could provide some information. I have never fished the lake either but I will be up there July 2nd through the 6th. My GF's parents have a cabin on Big Bay - I will be targeting Smallies and maybe a mix of some Walleye's/Muskie. I'm looking forward to getting up there!

As Del mentioned you will find a lot of info on this topic in the Vermillion forum. What dates are you going to be up there Joe? MNbass I have a cabin rented on Big Bay from 7/5-7/19. I fish Vermillion several weeks a year and for the most part exclusively chase bass and since I fish by myself I would be happy to take either or both of you out as my wife does not fish so I almost always have an open seat. If you want to try and plan a few hours chasing bass I would be happy to have you join me. I run a Ranger 521Z so I fish both the east and west side and have plenty of room. If we can make it work great. If the dates don't work I will send you both PM's with some ideas.

Also if anybody else is interested in joining me for some fishing let me know if the dates work. I am not available on the 9th-12th as I have friends coming up. Let me know.

Good Fishing!

I'd take you up on it but unfortunately the 5th is our last day.

I'd be willing to go east as long as it's not too far east. I was thinking of going down into Frazer bay to do some walleye fishing at some point. How difficult is it to navigate through Oak Narrows?

Thanks for your help!
