Slush removel

Recommended Posts

What is the best way to get rid of the ice after you get done drilling your holes in a fish house?

I have not used the Slush Bucket or the Slush Copter that you connect to a drill, or the Slush inhaler. Pros or cons. I just dont want a lot of water in the house if I can avoid it.

Also, I am interested in buying some hole sleeves for the ice holes. Pros or cons with them??

I purchased a Slush Copter that you hook up a 18v drill with.

I read many reviews on this unit and yes, it is as good as all say.

One of the best tools I have used in years.

Cleans all the slush out, does not come back up the hole and all but nothing for water in the house or on the floor.

I would rate this unit a 12 out of 10 for performance.

Check out all the reviews on google, you will see what users think of this unit. Well worth the small cost.

I use hole sleeves and love them. I also use a slush bucket while I am drilling my holes for next to no snow on the floor while drilling, works good, I made mine.

I see not con's in any of these 3 units, I would say a must have for drilling holes fast and having the least amount of mess or water on the floor.

I've had good luck with the slush inhaler and last season got a tip from here about drilling your holes before lowering your house. I used to use a slush bucket but now I don't need it, pretty much no water or ice chips in the house and best of all it's free!

Slush copter is great, they work like magic and amaze people that see them for the first time. New people always jump to the other holes to see where the slush goes, it never does come up though. Inhalers work too but you still need to carry out the slush and it's HEAVY. My only knock on hole sleeves is once you're on a spot for a couple days they put a lot more snow in the hose than without and I've never been to nuts about slush buckets because, once again, HEAVY. With my new wheelhouse I'm pretty close to the ice, with my old ones hole sleeves were a must have. This is also a testimonial to a fully foamed house and floor.

You will be happy with the Copter, As mentioned above, I would clear a hole on the ice and others would come over to see it work and say, where did you get that.

I may buy a few extra's to sell on the lake next season, little demo and it's sold.

First off drilling with your house in the air is the only way to go. Once you do it a few times you'll know how to drill the holes to get them to line up. With my house you gotta drill as close to the side that is towards the front of the house. Drilling up in the air take care of a lot of slush and finish it off with a slush inhalor. Bought a slush copter after the end of the fishing season and can't wait to try it out given all the reviews.

How does the Slush Copter work if your holes are relatively close to each other? I like the idea of it but with my house some of the holes are as close as 16" from edge to edge and I could see it cleaning one hole and pushing it into the next. I don't know since I never used one yet.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
