Jeremy airjer W
what works and what does not work?Just to clarify. Your buddies boat trailer lighting works fine with his truck. There is something wrong when you hook that trailer up to your truck. The trailers you own work fine when you hook them up to your truck.Does his trailer have LED lighting? th64
LEDs seem less fussy/glitchy than regular definitely less sensiitve to water too.Good Luck
BoxMN
LEDs seem less fussy/glitchy than regular definitely less sensiitve to water too.Good Luck Love them, BUT there is the necessity to get the pos/neg wires correct, unlike normal lights, or it won't work. I learned that the hard way

Black Bear
Thanks for your responses....we threw in the towel and I bought a cheap magnetic kit that works fine off my truck and we just use those. They work well and are visible. We do not rely completely on the magnets and we tape the lights to his trailer frame.
Dragonsm
I'm far from a trailer expert....just going off of my own trials and tribulations from past experiences. Both you using the same output from your trucks? (I want to think Chevy only use to put the 7 prong plugin on their trucks...ford put both the 7 and 4)Also, maybe try using his receiver in your hitch? Poor ground to trailer through the trailer wires compensated through the hitch? Ran into this once when my father tried using one of those convert-a-ball hitches in the past. Normal hitch, trailer lights worked fine...convert-a-ball, nothing. If you haven't tried it yet, use everything from your buddy that he uses on his vehicle to attach the trailer/wires to his vehicle....might/might not shed some light.Steve
Powerstroke
Bad ground or check fuses. If the trailer works on everal vehicles, but not on one, then it is something wrong with that one vehicle. Most vehicles with trailer tow packages, especially that also have a 7pin connector, have a trailer connection fuse.
