I have an older Lowrance LMS-480M, and I believe the power button is sticky (bad contacts) and continues to activate. For reference, when I have the button beep volume on, it would beep around every second or so. Since the power button is also the backlight the backlight turns on and off every second or 2 as well. My workaround has been to shut off the volume ans I am ok with it, but at night the backlihht flashing will drive me nuts.

Nice to finally meet you tonight. Make sure you tell me who you are again next time you come in. I will probably forget.
Let me know when you are dropping in again and I'll make sure we have more of those beverages around!

Good luck.
