Any carp shooters out there? West Metro

Recommended Posts

Just got my 45 pound recurve set up for carp shooting. It has been 25 years since I shot my last carp. Anyways, gonna give it a try again. Just wondering if anybody has been out.

Hillbilly would love to shoot sometime. I have boat as well and some spots near Howard Lake if you ever want to try someplace new. I have land that way so we could do a dump of fish if needed. My folks live in Hutch so we will have to keep in touch.

I was out today and found the carp in shallow mucky bay. I missed every single one. I probably shot a couple dozen times. They were really skittish. Water wasn't the cleanest and sun was not shining all the time. Fun time though.

I have a ranger cherokee, great fishing boat, probably not the best carp shooting boat as blood and guts will get everywhere.

I do have an old 14 foot aluminum that I need to register and put a deck on. I might just rig this thing up with lights. Maybe get a 5 horse and trolling motor. This could get expensive LOL

Jaako93, let's hit the water one of these days. We could wait for the carp spawn and hit one of the local lakes. Let me know what days you are open. This weekend won't work for me.

Sorry jaako93 I don't give my spots away.. there's already a few cyber scouters on here that are from around my home town.... only time they talk to me is to find where the birds and fish are.. when I do get my boat setup I'll let you know. I do have another boat that is setup that I'm selling

I was all set to go fishing/bowfishing opener and as I left the driveway noticed low tire warning on. Pulled back in driveway, unhooked boat and discovered nail in tire. So much for that.

In a week or two any lake you go to will have carp all over the shallows spawning. The hard part is getting out there crazy

If there are any carp shooters out in the west metro and you can get on Tonka find an inlet from a nearby wetland. The one near Crescent Beach is flowing strong with schools and schools of carp out in front/side of it. Probably can't be shooting carp there since it is next to a beach, but find some place like it.
