video question

Recommended Posts

I'm not sure if this is the place for this question, but there are lot of bright guys and gals in here who know a lot about posting pics and video, so I'll post it and see if someone can help me.

I've got a short video I'd like to post in a story I'm going to write up, but I've never done this and I'm not sure how to do it. I use a photobucket account and upload my pics to that, then post them in a thread. I looks like I can upload video to photobucket too. Can I upload the video and post it in a thread just like a pic would get posted? Not sure if it matters, but it's a .wmv file and is 65 MBs.

The absolute easiest way to do that is to use the HSO upload. That is the 5th icon in with the sunset and the blue up arrow. The only limitation on that is the 3mb file size. In all honesty even an HD video will be compressed down from Vimeo or YouTube when posting here. The only way you can see a higher definition file is to click on the video and leave HSO to view. So you might just as well knock your file size down and use HSO.

If you want to keep your file size you then will need to create a YouTube or Vimeo account and upload it there. Then you click on the next button over that looks like a directors cut board to the right of the HSO upload button. I do link occasionally from one of my web sites but that is a bit more work than using Vimeo or YouTube. I have never used Photobucket so I have no clue what they have for options.

Good, glad to hear that DD. I'll give it a shot and see how it goes. If I fail miserably I may be back here begging for help. I'm not a tech savy guy and I'm also not very bright, so expect to see me around here sometime soon!

Not overly impressed with yourself, are you? grin

LOL- I find that I get myself in trouble less if I rip on myself than other people. It's safer this way... smile

It took a lot of years and instances of getting myself in trouble with my big and smart mouth to learn that lesson! I've found that I'm the safest target for me to fire away at and I don't really believe most of the cheap shots I deal out to myself, so don't worry about me. I'm only half as clueless and inept as I suggest that I am!!! winklaugh
