Hopefully that will change, several new phones are now water resistant.

I can totally submerge my new phone.

Me too, and I have accidentally tested it more than once whistle

I'll never own another phone that isn't water resistant.

I don’t recall specifically, but there might be a setting in which your phone will drop the connection based on a previous hot spot and how it remembers it. This could be the issue. Vexilar has a video explaining dropped connection issues and the steps to take to try and trouble shoot it.

As far as range, when I did my testing, I was out of sight of it and still had a good connection.

I hiked back into a little pocket of flood water last night. I sort of knew the general contour of the bottom, but just to fine tune it a little bit I tossed out the T-Pod and let it float around a bit until it hovered over a small area that looked very good (right in front of a root ball where the current had created a small hole near the bank). At the same time I made a couple of short casts with the unit to that same area to make sure there was no submerged timber to get hung up on.

Tossed my bait out to that same spot and waited.

A few hours later, a couple of nice Flatties hit the river bank, including this one
