2013 Escape/shudder & limp mode

Recommended Posts

It has happened twice, the first time my brother was on his way to lake & just leaving Grand Rapids. He pulled into a nearby business & managed to get it towed to the local dealer. They took a look at it & told him there wasn't anything they could do as it showed no codes. They took it for a testdrive & it seemed OK.Well the 2nd time was two weeks ago,I was along, only this time we had been at the lake for a couple of days.He just pulled over, stopped,& shut it off.The check engine light had come on but it said OK behind it so he started it right back up.Once we got back home(Ia.) the local dealer, where he bought the car,was notified. After doing a little reseach of our own it appears that Ford is aware of the problem, not many reports with his engine(2.0/18K),but does not want to call it a recall. He didn't talk to the dealer until late Mon. afternoon when an appointment for Wed. was made.It took 2 hrs in the shop & no idea what they did.We were told that Ford would get in touch with us.Sorry for the novel but thought it might be useful to others here.
