Guest
In the first legal inter-boat Hawg Hunt of the year, once again the Basspastor showed Cyberfish how it is done at Wapogassat catching the largest bass and pike. The number of fish apiece was pretty much a draw with both having our streaks. Although I must wonder if Cyberfish would have caught as much if he wasn't in the back of the boat watching what I was catching them on.Next Grudge Match coming soon. Cyb managed to boat two nice smallies, one of which was the biggest bass of the day. I think it went 17".Next Sat. Cyb and I will be going head to head in a walleye/pike Fishers of Men club tourny at Buffalo Lake, but we will have our own CybvsBP side tourny for bass and will probably go on a Hawg Hunt in the evening. Guest
What batteries? (Cyberfish and I will be fishing out of different boats in our club tourny and he left the fate of his rig in my hands. I think I'll bring the battery but forget the gas and trolling motor so he'll have to row, row, row the boat gently across Buffalo Lake, Merily Merily Merily just to catch a snake!)[This message has been edited by Basspastor (edited 05-29-2003).]

Guest
In the Fishers of Men Walleye and Pike Tournament BP and the rest of the field was roundly thumped by Cyb and his partner. However this was not a fair fight between me and Cyb because the scoring was weighted to catching pike and I was fishing with a walleye guy who is good with bottom bouncers and spinners and I wanted to learn how to fish that way. I didn't even bring pike tackle in the boat. They got three pike 27" or bigger and the big eye of the tourny 24." Cyb also got way more and bigger bass than me, but that isn't a surprize as he was throwing spinnerbaits in the weeds and we were trolling walleye spinners & crawlers outside the weeds. In the evening we went to Sylvia/Twin for a little mono on mono. Despite the fact that Cyb nearly had twice as many strikes as me, he just couldn't land anything (much to my delight and amusement) and I the Basspastor reigned victorious with catching less but 5 better quality fish. Guest
"Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!"Cyb, isn't that the sound you made after missing about your 6th bass in a row at Sylvia/Twin.BTW I was smacking big smallies on ML tonight and missing fish just like you, thanks for the use of the boat. Guest
Dastardly Baskets, Cyb lands the first real hawg of the year with me as bystander... But first Day 1 (which went to the BP)Day 1 Mille Lacs Smallies & Peavy Largemouth.Cyb was shut out on the Smallies and I was able to nab two small one's. We also tried for largemouth but only got two pike. Cyb's was nearly 10lbs. Because ML was dead we punted to Peavy where despite being in the back of the boat on a clear water shallow weed bite, I managed to catch about 4 bass, while Cyb only got three, but one of which he thought was big bass of the day, but my second smallie was as big or bigger. Cyb had another case of the misses at Peavy and I dropped a really nice bass as well.Day 2Cyb kicked the bejebbers out of me; it was ugly. I got three bass all under 14" and landed numerous pike under 20". Meanwhile Cyb was catching numerous bass with his best 5 all 15" or bigger anchored by a 20.5" Hawg. Right after that and off the same dock I landed my third "keeper" bass of the day at 13" and issued the quote of the day:"Mike (Cyberfish) catches the Lunkers and I get the klunkers."He bested me drop shotting a brown Cyberflex French Fry. His secret is revealed!
Guest
June 21Once again Cyb showed the Basspastor and the rest of the Fishers of Men Fishing club how it is done. He won our Big Bass Tournament on Lake Minnetonka. However, my heart was not in this one and I even took a nap for over two hours during the tournament. The real Cyb vs. BP match up happened later at Bavaria Lake. We were both anticipating some hot slop action in the scum at this all C&R lake. Unfortunatly the fish were not thick in the gook yet and things were slow. Cyb took a power nap, while I got nothing. We both popped 5 a piece, and while I hate to admit it Cyb's fish were slightly bigger than mine. Cyb beat me twice in one day.
Guest
Unbelievable but true, Cyb and the BP did not fish in a boat together during open water for almost 3 straight months. When we finially did it was the first day of the Fishers of Men Fall Outing in the Longville area... Report coming soon.Find out which of the two was the 1st to have their name forever written on the FOMFC "Fally Wally" Trophy.
