thanks for posting this! Who are these kids? I been involved with a Kids BASS club for years and haven't heard of this local fella. He musta learned

something somewhere eh? Good for him.

In fact since when did U o MN MPLS has a team. I do know a young man who went to school in U of MN Winona because they've had a college team. It's cool to see the college teams catch on.

I wonder who sponsors this sport at this level? Probably the parents I'm guessin. Ok here's my truck and bass boat now go to college and fish your head off!

Felix won a Full Throttle last year on Tonka and a NABC on the Madison Chain in WI. He is obviously a pretty darn good stick. He has a Facebook Page: Austin Felix Fishing.

I'm currently a college student and would love to do this but they changed in this year so you had to supply your own boat…I go to school in grand forks and you don't get reimbursed for gas anymore. Would be a great time but the juice is simply not worth the squeeze for me.

You can't be on the team without your own boat? No non-boaters? No boats are actually owned or provided by the school? No expenses etc. Maybe these are just college related clubs vs NCAA sanctioned sports.

I watch some of the college events on TV and I can't think of another college level sport that allows all the advertising like the kids shirts and boats etc

Apparently last year it was all provided. You would have a pro that didn't make the cut the previous day who would drive the boat and you would tell them where. School funding for fishing is not easy to get. UND anyway will recognize it as a club but not fork over a dime meaning you drive yourself (boat in tow) and pay for everything hotel, food, etc. Not a college friendly operation, unless of course, you have the money. From what a friend of mine said was that the jerseys used to be provided and they would cut you an $80 gas check….The closet tournament to grand forks is in Missouri….
