cabelas 360 degree underwater camera

Purchased a cabelas advanced angler series 360 degree underwater camera, 3yrs ago(?). Anybody else have one? I love this camera, especially in current. The problem is, the plastic housing that protects the camera is cracked. I have taken it apart several times and tried to silicone everything as best i could and moisture still finds its way in. Am trying to find a new housing. Of course cabelas no longer makes or supports this thing. Any ideas?

Try super glue, unless the crack is really big.

That is gonna be tough. There is a lot of water pressure 20 feet down.

Make sure the inside is super dry before you seal it up. Put it in rice or some sort of desiccant.

Liquid electrical tape. It can be brushed on in many layers with dry time between and it stays flexible. Worth a shot anyway. Hope you can fix it.

Marine silicon glue like 3m 4200 or better yet 5200. My experience with liquid electrical tape is that it doesn't handle cold weather well. I used it on my snowmobile seat and it cracked.

I don't know what your unit looks like, But maybe put something rigid against lens assm and/ or temporarily tape lens fixture to protect and then "plasti-dip" the entire unit and that'll seal up the operation easily with the most ease and durability.

Maybe flex seal it works with a screen door in the bottom of a boat.

That's the number one complaint in all underwater cameras. Even the failure rate out of the box is huge.

I don't have any suggestions, but I truly feel your pain. I have the same unit and absolutely love it. It makes so much sense! So far so good with mine. I was so disappointed when I saw it was discontinued. I keep waiting for another manufacturer to produce a similar unit. Good luck and keep us posted if you do find a fix.
