This dark drama has me hooked, I was avoiding it till all 8 episodes aired but I just had to peek. The pairing of Woody and Matt are great. I like them both for their respective roles. There is something about Det. Cohle that Is unsettling to me.

I know this is dredging up a dead thread, but I finished watching it last night and was really impressed with this tale. I guess I was a bit underwhelmed with the ending. SPOILERS v

Didn't like that the whole case, with multiple people from a large and powerful family involved, basically ended when they found the redneck hoarder with a knack for accents and his sister/wife. Such a fantastic buildup for what ended up being a very simplistic conclusion. All of the work they went through and contacts they hunted down, all of the spiritual connotations, and it was basically a hillbilly with access to schools.
