eagle_3464
Where is everyone getting the double pane insulated windows? I am able to find small sliders pretty economical but I would like at least one double hung so that I can crack the top sash open a bit when I need to release excess heat and/or smoke from cooking. I'd like to find something roughly 18" wide by 24" tall.

eagle_3464
I looked through all the double hung windows at our local Menards and the smallest is roughly 24" x 36". The only ones smaller are sliders and single hung with single pane. Are some of you using sliders and rotating them for a vertical look? You could call one of the replacement window companys alot of them make any size window you want.
Hawg
They had a smaller one in Brainerd, how about their HSOforum? Isn't there a 12x18?
eagle_3464
rod, that is exactly why I won't use them that way. Just wondering if anybody did and what they did about the drain slots.hawg, I checked extensively online and I am unable to find a double hung that small. I think the only way would to be special order as rod suggested. I believe the Yetti windows are single hung aren't they?
Hawg
Gosh, I know I've seen them. Maybe an RV or mobile home product?

You might even try your local menards store I think you can order special sizes though them.
Hawg
Look on the bay site under Mobile Home Insulated windows. They have 14 x 21 for $68, I think, I have a bad memory. OR try a local Mobile Home place that does repair work.
JollyJoker
You can try talking to the window/door manager at the big box stores and ask them if they have any display sample windows they would sell or if they could ask the window sales people if they do when they visit. I got 2 small (14 1/2 x 18") double hung plastic in woodgrain look that tilt in to clean with the screen for $20.00 each. They are set up for 2" thick walls. eagle_3464
JJ, thanks for the heads up, I may ask about that.Hawg, thanks for the effort but those are all single hung on the bay. A single hung defeats my purpose for the vertical window. I would want it so that I can crack the top sash for some ventilation of excess heat and/or smoke from cooking or exhaust from auger.
