LX-6 Vs. LX-7

For you Marcum guys that have used both. Is there much difference? I the size, and 3/4"

VS. 1/2" resolution but is there any other glaring differences. I fished with a guy using

a LX-7 and it was nice but I did not like the size. Does a LX-6 fit in a bucket? Is it inadequate in any way compared to the 7? Thanks..........

Fleet sold 7's out last weekend for $599. I was really thinking at $699 but would have for sure bought one at $599 if they still had one. The thing that scares me and makes me wonder is that these things are turning out to be like our summer electronics in that they have multiple updates coming out to fix software problems. Makes me think my old whirling fl-18 might be where I want to stay. Summer electronics are always a pain regardless of company and I don't know if I want those headaches in the winter too.

I have to agree with you Hawg. I have an 18 also but was looking for another flasher for the

wife. Was looking at the 28 because of the interference rejection, but it appears to be buggy also

so was looking at all options. I do like the keep it simple approach. Hate to get on a trip and find out I have a surprise with my gear.

The first software was glitchy, but the last two updates have been flawless, especially the very last one. I wouldn't worry about this one bit, whatever you buy will have the most updated software, and even if you don't ever update you still have the best flasher on the market currently.

I was going to get a LX6 until I thought about it and realized the weight difference is like 3 ounces. The bigger screen of the LX-7 is well worth the extra money IMO

My intention is not to create another flasher bashing thread. Just want to hear the differences between these two flashers and if the LX-7's features make it a better choice than the LX-6.

There is nothing wrong with the LX6, but I would buy the LX7 if I were buying again. If you hole hop a ton the 6 is better, but I don't. When you're hunkered down in the shack the screen on the 7 is amazing. The 6 is close to fitting in a bucket but doesn't really (at least not in upright position the base is too big/square). The 7 seems faster, but that might just be because the same object is moving further on the screen and that makes it look faster. You can catch fish with either.

fsnrod, I just started using my LX-7 this season. I still have my LX-5 but I don't miss it at all. The weight difference is not that bad. I fished with a buddy of mine who still uses his 5 and after looking at his while fishing I am glad I got the 7. As far as the difference between the 6 and 7 I looked at both at the sports show last year before deciding on the 7. The size difference of the screen is very noticable. I did have some minor problems with my 7 but with the new update it runs great.
