POUT!!! POUT!!! POUT!!!

Recommended Posts

Buddy of mine got the biggest pout I've ever seen out on Sakakawea this weekend. This was the only fish we got all day, but it was worth it. 36", didn't get a weight but she was heavy. When we cut it open we examined its guts & found 10 2" drum & a 8" white bass. Guess they're eating pretty good out there!

Have caught some big ones of all three. Yep, walleyes a wet sock, catfish great fight, but one hit wonders with their rolls. First big pout I caught had no clue what it was….it just swam with force and nothing could be done but let it peel drag, it was not a quick run like a pike, just a slow moving like it did not know it was hooked. The fight is not action packed, but usually have 4 to 6 lb test on mediums and trying to harness that force with under matched set ups is a blast. You end up holding your breath a lot hoping the rod or line will not snap …..
