flx-28 help?

Why does my new flx-28 read in meters not feet. I can't find anything on this. Thank you!!!!

Does it say meters on the screen?

just got it home turn it on it changes the numbers but after the numbers it says m, not ft like in store

Interesting. I just turned mine on in the garage and in all ranges it read "---ft".

Have you had it in the water yet?

nope can't find anything on this. it is for sure meters it will say like 5.9m in demo mode. it gives random numbers like that. but always m not ft and always point something.

I can't find anything about it even on vexilar HSOforum. I am thinking that but I don't even see where they have a Canadian model. I always get stuff like this. I am about done buying new stuff grrrrr.

Does the range button press in? If so hold it in for 4-5 seconds.

I have looked all over the internet for a solution for this for you! I even went out to the garage and messed with my own FLX-28 & can't figure it out!? Vexilar's HSOforum refers to the metric system option for their Scout product. Says to hold some button in for 5 seconds or something...but all our 28's do is flip from day to night mode (as you already know)!

Sorry I don't have the answer for you...I'll keep looking. Otherwise I'm guessing you'll have to call Vexilar on Monday. Strange though...

Just went through the entire manual...NO mention of feet / meter changing!?

One thing I did notice though...1/2 the packaging box is in French! I'm guessing you somehow bought a metric version! Not sure why they would have the box in French...they obviously have a large French / Canadian market.

Turn your gain to 9 and when you power your unit on hold down the gain knob.

This work or just a guess? I ended up taking it back they could not figure it out at Joe's either. Got another one that reads in ft.

A simple call to Vexilar would have worked...

As far as guessing. My friend found that hidden feature and told me about it.

Thanks for the help. Yes a call would have worked but they are open Monday through Friday. I wanted to fish no biggie just wanted to use it. Wish they would have put it in the directions.
