eyeguy 54
With my eyes not working as good as they used to I was thinking of adding the fiber optic to the front of my slug barrel on the 20 gauge 870 express. It has a white sight there now that will not come off. What is a good fiber option to put up there?
Gordie
There are some really great aftermarket sights out there, and your current sight may be one that is a pressed in, and will need to be tapped for the one you go with. A gunsmith will be able to help you out or even a student of a gunsmithing coarse.
picksbigwagon
williams fire sights (peep sight) is what I put on my 12ga 870. I am sure they make one for the 20ga. as well. I would think that you would just need a brass tap and a hammer to take the old one out, I don't think any of the remington slug sights are drilled and tapped. harvey lee
I just looked at 2 of my Remington slug barrels and both front sights are not drilled and tapped. just need to tap on the side to remove it. May be that the sight has to be tapped one direction to be removed. As mentioned above, use a brass tap.
Gordie
The ramps on those barrels typically are silver brazed on and have a dovetail groove cut in them for the site. The site can be tapped out.
