usmtsrocks
Have some issues with my dead bolt on the ice castle freezing up. It's actually the keyhole that will freeze up and then I can't get in the house. I have to have the door dead bolted while driving otherwise it constantly pops open. I have an old hair dryer along that i run off the generator to thaw the lock and I'm in a minute. Obviously when it's 75 inside the house and 20 below outside there's gonna be some condensation. I would assume my fellow ice castle owners have experienced this, just seeing how u all have solved this issue.
harvey lee
Have not had this issue yet, maybe carry some of the lock de-icer for cars with you to squirt in the keyhole. That may help.
20lbSloughShark
WD-40 with the little straw. Its what I use on my car locks. Just stick the straw in and spray.
Sea Hage
Lock De-Icer, spray the key hole the bolt and the latch on the knob. Keep one in the truck and in the house.
Lip_Ripper Guy
I spray the door knob and deadbolt with graphite spray every night. It worked great until 3 weeks ago. Don't know what happened, other than it was -30 when I turned the heat off 5 days before. Lock de-icer and a torch did nothing. I ended up having to drill out the door knob to get in my house. Luckily I wasn't on the ice. In the future I'll be keeping a good drill, and a 3/8" metal drill bit in the truck. Another option is a big vice grips or channel lock to get a good grip and twist the knob off. You'll still need to drill out a couple rivets. Mid-Lake Rock
I ran into this problem a lot last year. For some reason, it hasn't happened this year. The best solution I found is a hairdryer. I plugged it into my generator, but you can also get an inverter for your vehicle. Tried lock de-icer and it didn't work.

JakeJ_Mn
I use white spray lithium grease to coat my door mechanism. Seems no matter what they all freeze up sometime.
