JeremyCampbell
Baught an Rem 870 combo last yr and looked at it the other day.Found rust inside the barrel.I keep it in a case in a locked closet. Is this normal? I used it once on a range on a couple rounds of clay and cleaned it and oiled it when I was done.
monstermoose78
Don't store it in a case Jeremy it holds moister. Put a cable lock or trigger lock on and store in the closet and your golden.

Yep, moisture in the case will rust a gun very quick. The guns that I don't use that often I will use wonder lube in the barrel. Wonder lube is a Muzzle loader product I melt some in the micro wave and then dip a couple patches in it, let it dry, then swab the barrel with it, then before I take out to shoot I run a couple clean patches threw it.I use wonder lube because it doesn't run down the barrel after it has been applied. You can also by a oil impregnated gun sock to store them in too.or you can spray them down with a good rust prevented before storing and before shooting run a couple patches down it. live4chrome
You can also buy moisture absorbers for your safe. Cool them in the oven very once in a while
