LakeDocktor
While both of them are great products, my nod would go to the X1 Thermal. The sled and poles being beefier would the the main reasons for my decision.
Fred_Bear
If you could get either one for the price of a Legend which would you take and why. Completely different animals, and you should match your house to your fishing style. Lightweight ultra-portable (Legend) vs. heavy built rugged portable (X1)I would pick the Legend. 90% of my fishing is either pulling the portable behind a snowmobile for less than a mile, driving out, or walking out. I switch holes a lot and a lightweight house allows me to fish like I'm not using a shelter at all.For the few times a year when I am putting a lot of miles on the snowmobile with portable in tow, I have an Otter Cabin. LakeDocktor
While I agree with deciding what style of fishing you are going to use your portable for in terms of durability versus lightweight, but the X1 Thermal is only 6lbs heavier than the Legend Thermal. Scott O.
The nice thing about the X1 is that it has a much longer sled, which is better to hold more gear, especially an auger. Now, I love my Legend I bought this year. Love the light bar, the seat, and the height of it when set up. It's got 8" more head space than the X1, which is nice for a heavier hook set. But if I've got all my gear in it, sometimes putting the auger in it is a small issue where a longer sled would be nice. Each has their advantage. Both good quality set-ups though. fishing tech
I went with the X1. I like the bigger sled, not real happy with the height. I figure for the price I can always sell it and get the Legend.

I didn't realize that. Amazing how the X1 is bigger, has a heavier/bigger tub, heavier hardware, heavier fabric, and still only weighs 6 lbs more! Might be something to look at.
