Phoenix Bass

Anybody ever fish the Phoenix area? I'm going down in February and I'm wondering if I should hire a guide or if you can fish from shore in the Gilbert area.

I have fished few lakes there when I lived down there what lakes

Spent a couple days fishing Roosevelt but if I was going without any local

knowledge or friends I would hire a guide.

I fish down there every spring when I go visit my brother. I hire the Arizona Fishing guides. I have fished Lake Saguaro mostly. Last year we went in March and caught 15 fish sight fishing. Biggest was about 7. We have also fished there in February and it was a little slower but still caught a few. In February depending on the weather it could be pre spawn. Just getting out on the water in the winter is awesome. It always gets me pumped up to fish when I get back up here. Good luck!

February a little early for really hot fishing, but you will find a few IF you hire a guide. Personally I would not waste my time trying to find decent bass fishing on my own down there. A quick check will find a couple prominent guiding operations that can take care of you-don't have my book handy so can't give you phones etc.

Interesting fishing and some unusual country compared to MN and you will have a good day if you use a guide. There ARE some impressive fish in those lakes and even though it is ordinarily a slow time who knows; water temps could be up and fish might be more active. So far it has been warmer than normal in that area this winter.

Get a guide. Have fun.
