They work but I personally don't like the moister they put out.

Of coarse the Big Buddie and Blue flame are both non vented heaters but when I walk into a shack heated with a blue flame I instantly get that clammy and heavy air feeling.

A vented and sealed self contained furnace would be best. Downside they cost more and you have a battery to maintain. If that is out of the question I'd probably go with a second buddy heater.

Next is the Nuway stove, a vented propane heater without the battery.

Take a look at the bottom of this stove. Its wide open and that supplies combustion air.

Whats going to happen when the wind is wrong. No thanks, I'd rather use a blue flame.

In my shack I have the "Outdoorsman" built by Reddy.

It works great but as others have said, it puts humidity in the air. Is humidity a bad thing? That's your call. My shack doesn't get nearly as bad as others with little drops of water actually dripping from the ceiling, but you can feel it in the air. A cracked window does wonders but with the moisture in the air be ready for windows freezing up.

A couple of years ago we rented a 4 person sleeper at Mille Lacs. The fish house was a highly modified older Ice Castle. The resort had installed a two ECM fans near the ceiling in the in the side walls. The small fans were almost silent and helped a lot in eliminating moisture. They had installed a slide over panel to block the fan when it was shut off. The heated system was a vented and installed on the wall.

I have had both vented and un-vented heaters in my wheel houses.

The un-vented heaters always put a lot of moisture into the air and I had water dripping off of the ceiling and running down the walls! Especially if I left the heat on when I was not in the house to open and close the door on occasion.

The vented heaters did not have this moisture problem and are much safer if you plan to sleep in the house.

I do believe that you get more heat out of an un-vented heater though as the vented heaters lose heat out through the vent, but the vented heater also gets rid of the moisture. Which I was told my local propane dealers is about 1 gallon of water per 1 gallon of propane burned!
