Bureaucrat
Leave the portables at home. Looks like the weather will be pretty nice this weekend. Here's hoping. Got my ion all charged up. Hoping to get out to some of the lesser fished lakes on saturday.
carpshooterdeluxe
Should be a great weekend to chase the perch. Wish I could head north on friday instead of going muzzleloading.
Bureaucrat
I'm just hoping things quiet down enough at work I can get a day to myself to get out there. No plan yet, but there's a napkin with some ideas scrawled on it.

It's not even mid-January yet. I am pretty sure you will be okay.
Bureaucrat
Depends. I've got an Ion auger. When I was drilling into 18 inches, the shavings were getting very close to the powerhead. If you're drilling into an ice heave, you can add a few inches as well. I want to keep the shavings and slush away from my electric powerhead, so I am putting my extention on. In all fairness, the Ions are a tad bit shorter than a standard gas auger too. Bring it, be glad if you don't need it.
