Carpet pad removal suggestions?

Need to remove some carpet but looks like the foam pad underneath is either stuck to the wood floor or has been glued to it.

The carpet pulls relatively easy from the foam but the foam is stuck to the floor real good.

Any suggestions how to remove besides good old elbow grease?

Ice scraper and a lot of elbow grease. Been there and done that and what a pain.

Floor scraper is a good route to get most of it off with then what ever little flakes or chunks that don't scrape I usually rub my shoe on and frees easily.Before you put the new stuff down walk around and zip some screws if you got any squeaks.Might as well while you have it all apart.

Kind of late to this thread. Take a utility knife and run it the length of the room to create 12 to 18 inch strips. Doing this will keep the pad from binding and release the easier.
