frostbite
Its been many many year since i've speared long before the under water camera.but i think that would of help me pick a spot look for a some what shallow place with good bait fish they feed on. Not familiar with the lake you mentioned. You might get a better response in the bowfishing/spearing form there are alot of good people there that can answer your question. Good luck. pikerliker
Hey Kiecker I just speared for the 1st time last winter. What a blast!! I used to sit in my dad's darkhouse when I was a kid when he speared but I never had myself until last year. To me it was comparable to deer hunting and getting that adrenaline rush when a fish would come into the decoy. I'm no expert but you want water that's clear enough to see through for one. Tough to spear on a dark stained lake that you can only see a foot or 2 into. As far as where to spear I would try outside of weedlines, on drops and points, etc like you would if you were looking for spots to fish them. Also just ask around or look for other dark houses to see where they are setting up.
