Clam pop up fix

uffdapete

Question

One of the fiberglass rods in the side of my Clam Summit poked a hole through the end of the sleeve on the bottom side in a corner. Guessing others have experienced the same thing. I could hand sew it shut but don't want to shorten what is already a tight fit. Any thinking out of the box ideas?

I had the same problem. I took a plastic sour cream container and cut a strip around that was the same width as the slot in the fabric. I then folded it in half and put the pole in the center.. The plastic folded over was not small enough to fit through the hole the pole poked. For it to work, the plastic has to fit tight in the pocket that the pole fits into. It held up for the rest of the season until I could send it in for a repair because it was still within the year. Good Luck!
