HotToddyTipUp
Hey guys,So, I am looking for a place to find paper lake maps. I know a lot of people have the navionics (like myself) on their phones and it is great. But, sometimes it is nice to have a full paper map to unroll on the table and plan with. I know my grandpa has a bunch from the sixties at my cabin that he got from the county. Looking for something a bit newer and nicer. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. MNMAV93
I don't know if you have scene this HSOforum before but some of the maps are pretty good, and you can obviously print them off. I find these pretty convenient when I don't have any other options. It all depends on the lake and how recently the DNR has updated it. http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/lakefind/index.html
DrJuice1980
Most of those maps are old as dirt. I look at them too though.
HotToddyTipUp
Yeah, I have seen those was looking for larger roll up type maps. I have seen the sportsman connections maps too, but I only fish a hand full of lakes so I don't need a book full.
20lbSloughShark
That HSOforum got me through plenty of years of fishing. While Everyone had GPS fish finders, and other hi tech gadgets, I printed off maps, and laminated them. I still have them in a drawer somewhere. I got really good at using the scale, and could usually predict my depth by up to plus or minus 5 feet. Now I have Navionics on my phone, and a Vexilar, so DNR maps have become obsolete. I still use the HSOforum to look up fish data though.
ice_medic
You can buy just single maps too from sportsman connection. I did that for when I go to a new lake so that way I can write on them and put notes on them.
castmaster
Fishing Hot Pots has some nice "paper" maps. Anyone know if Lakemap is still in business doing the plastic maps?
h8go4s
Lakemaster has quite a few of the larger Minnesota lakes.http://store.lakemap.com/products/581705/MinnesotaAlso Hotspot:http://www.fishinghotspots.com/e1/pc/viewcategories.asp?idCategory=33&pageStyle=L

Hardwater_Fan
If you happen to be looking for maps in SD, here's a link to a bunch on the eastern side of the state. He prints them all on a water resistant, high quality paper (it even floats). From what I understand, he collects all available information from what the state has available, local maps, etc and then goes out and confirms all the waypoints. The maps I have ordered have the map with waypoints marked on one side, then the GPS coordinates for the waypoints on the back. I saw him at a local ice show and he has several new maps that he came out with this year, so it's a work in progress. You can also request that he map certain bodies of water.http://www.mikesmaps.com/
