Sod Farmer
What do you really like for carrying your stuff when riding trails? I see all kinds of front and rear rack bags, saddle bags, fender bags, etc.. There are also some hard boxes that seem popular also. What works best for you and why do you like it? Fisher Dave
It all depends on what your hauling on your ATV.. I dont think could possibly be a perfect solution for even the majority without special needs.I use my ATV's for fishing, hunting, work, and general trail riding... about the only thing that stays on most of the time is rear soft storage with 3 zipper pouch's that is padded on the bottom for a passenger to sit on... most the time it will hold what I need, let me haul another person(rare), and leaves my front rack open to bungee down anything I need that is too big for the pouch. Dave
Yup, depends on what you want to carry. Tools and sharp objects can cut soft bags. Softbags are usually easier to take off than plastic cargo boxes, too.I use both at different times of the season. FYI, soft bags are pretty water resistant and clean off with a spray from the garden hose.
Fishing Junky
I just bought a hard trunk, that has a built in area with two one and a quarter gallon gas cans.Cans came with the unit. Nice option for those longer trips. Good luck, Junky..............------------------A fishing guide is just a fishing junky who takes others with him to support his habit. Little_Bones
Front rack I built a wood box. Carries 1 gallon gas can for emergency, plus some room for other items. Back rack I have a Contico (Sp?) Hard box. Its large, keeps stuff dry and can be obtained for $16.95 at Walmart. Holds my cooler, extra dry clothes, boots, etc.that's my 2 cents.Jim
valter
I built racks for the front and back of my polaris 400 explorer. I can carry all my ice fishing gear which inludes the following:gas auger20 # propane tank and heaterdeep cycle batteryminnow cooler3 five gallon buckets for rods, vexilar, fishsnow shovelgps bracketlunch coolertackle boxI made the racks out of oriented strand board (osb) and 2x2's. I placed a bunch of hooks in strategic spots so everyting can be bungee'd down. It is not pretty to look at but gets the job done very well. I think I have a grand total of $40 into it.
