Strikemaster Lazer Ultra questions...

I may have just made a mistake.... bought a used Lazer Ultra today. Wanted to get back into a 9" auger, and they are getting very hard to find.

Have not used SM in a number of years, as I've been happy with the Eskimos. I totally forgot about the design flaw in the 3 blade auger, which SM ended up eliminating. I went out to Medicine Lake today, and was not all that impressed with it. Blades have about 30 holes on them, so that isn't the issue.

So my questions are:

a. do you know if SM is still offering a trade-in program? Apparently, at one point in time, it was free. Then it became pro-rated. I'd like to see how much I'd have to pay to get into a 9" 2 blade auger assembly.

b. Is there a phone number for customer service? I only see an email link to that area. I have not had much luck in the past, when contacting a company via this method.

I believe the 9" 2 blade lazer drills are discontinued. the only option would be a 8" or 10" lazer drill unit.

Well, I actually got a response. The trade-in program ended around 2009. Their suggestion? Buy a new auger. LMAO. My fault, should have walked away from the deal. Maybe I can pawn the present auger assembly, as drock seems to have the 9" auger still.
